Cause end affect?

Hehehe...

You know, in the past forty years, America as a culture has drastically reduced the number of women who smoke and/or drink during pregnancy.

In the last several decades, we have seen a marked increase in children diagnosed with ADD and autism.

Coincidence?

Hmmm....

Hehehe...

Me

Pet peeve

I'm watching TV, and I am watching these ad's about the services that are being cut, the teachers, firemen and police officers that are getting fired, and the battles over the budget.

What I do not see, or hear, is the fact that every person who cheats on his taxes cheats all of us, every one.

To really make by stomach burn, a local legal firm bragging about getting people out of having to pay their taxes in full, as if it's a wonderful thing that these people, especially those who get the most advantage from living in our society, are actually undermining the entire system.

Ever read the children's story Stone Soup? I know my kid loved it when he was small. It shows how a small town of people who are all living lean can pool their resources together and they all live better because of it.

This is the reverse. This is a tale where a group of nobles live in a castle made of gold that protects them from the dangers of the world, but each night, one or another noble sneaks out and steals a brick, until they are over run by the monsters (in this case, poverty, hunger, disease, violence) and they all die horribly, but rich.

Hey, maybe I should right that book...
Me

Silly, but serious

I hate to admit it, but I have become a fan of the Celebrity Apprentice. Which is odd, as I consider Trump a joke.

More to the point tonight however, if I ever saw Joan Rivers, I would have to fight the urge not to spit in her stretched, alien looking freakish face.

Her anger is fine, the name calling is a part of the show, but I can not, and I will not forgive her frequently stressed opinion that a person offending and upsetting her (and her daughter) makes them as bad as Hitler.

Joan even has the gall to toss the deaths of her own family at the hands of the Nazi's into the equation.

Disgusting.

Disgusting.

She denigrates and diminishes the victims of the Holocaust, all the victims, those murdered and the survivors, and everything they endured.

Disgusting.

Not my quete, but I agree...

Found on FARK, paraphrased here...

All chicks are crazy.
You just have to find what sets them off. In my ex-wife's case it's oxygen.

Hehehe...

In reference to this story, by the way...

Christians love torture?

The more often Americans go to church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists, according to a new survey.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/04/30/religion.torture/index.html?JesusWept

Wow, I always thought that the vast majority of Christians (and every organized body of the same) missed the message of their own messiah by a a huge chunk, but this is amazing.

White evangelical Protestants were the religious group most likely to say torture is often or sometimes justified --

Wow.

Miss California

I'm sure you've heard about Miss California, and her answer to the gay marriage question.

“I believe that marriage should be between a Christian man and a Christian woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised.”

I'm not going to argue the gay marriage here, but it does baffle me that no one has noticed her wording, in her mind, only Christians should be allowed to marry?

That's frightening.

Athiesm 1 Religion 0

Not that I am an atheist, but I just thought of a good reason to think like one.

If we are the children of the lord, then it's hard not to see humanity as a giant failure. The way we treat each other, more often then not, is w2orthy of despair, when judged from the perspective of a species created by a divine force.

However from the perspective of humanity as the end result of random events, we're an amazing species, a phenomenon of astounding achievement.

Hmmm...

Dead baby joke?

Imagine a ship full of fat, disgusting wealthy people, riding on a sea of starving babies. Those on the boat have plenty, food beyond their need, but instead of tossing the excess over, they hoard the waste until it rots, becomes foul, and putrid.

Now watch the typical American family of four going into WalMart, and buying a big screen TV.

Get it?

Hilarious...

Athiests, winning since 33 AD

That curious, and hopefully intriguing title comes from a humorous poster quoting Epicurus.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence come evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God."

And then the caption which is the title of this post.

Humorous? To me it is, but relevant, no.

It does illustrate my point though.

The problem with Atheists is that they don't understand the nature of God.

Also humorous?

The problem with Christians is that they don't understand the nature of God.

Not so humorous? I'm to tired to try anymore. It's hard to explain things that are really, really obvious though. Ever try defining the concept of color? Even So-Crates had trouble with that one...
